The iBook has landed!

My ex-online friend, Nocs (no longer just an online friend), asked me to buy an iBook for him. We got a good deal in Singapore. But we got crap when we reached Customs at Clark International Airport.

We were being unexpectedly charged 10% VAT for the brand-new iBook. This despite Nocs’ past experiences of having two hand-carried laptops brought into the country without tax. All the excitement of delivering his baby lappy top was doused when I had to leave baby iBook in the hands (in the holding room, actually) of the customs officials.

I’m crossing my fingers that Nocs gets his baby lappy top without problems today.

I hope nakuha ninyo yung 5% GST refund sa airport.

Anong airline ang sinakyan ninyo, and how was the trip?

    Hi Paul!

Yup, we were able to get the 5%GST refund.

We took Tiger Airways from Clark. It cost us around P14k (2 pax, 2 way). The plane was fine, clean. Meals served upon order and payment.

The tour was magnificent! Ang saya! dami ko pang i-ku-kwento.

Re: WiFi, we got to hook up to some of the open WiFi hotspots around the malls. SingTel's welcome message also included instructions on how to get username and password for SingTel's wifi hotspots. But we didn't have much time to go hotspot hunting. We were busy touring and enjoying the place.

    Hawker foooooooodddd!
